RICHARD SHORT’S

12 VIEWS OF QUÉBEC

Drawn on the Spot by British Officer Richard Short, a few days after Québec was captured

in September 1759 on the Plains of Abraham.

The drawings were later engraved by different artists.

Short wrote this note on 1st drawing:

“To the Honourable Sir Charles Saunders Vice Admiral of the Blue and Knight of the most.

Honourable Order of the BATH.

These twelve Views of the Principal Buildings in QUEBEC are most Humbly Inscribed by his most Obediant Humble Servant.”
